I live in Crown Point and this is my fourth year working at the school. I teach Arabic and Quran to young preschoolers. I’m originally from Yemen, fluent in Arabic, and have been married for 20 years. I’m also a proud mother of three daughters.
Fun fact: I help young preschoolers learn their very first Arabic letters and begin their journey with the Quran. It’s amazing to watch their hearts and minds grow!

Kindergarten Teacher
My name is Mrs. Monica Soberri. I was born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Music. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my dog Roxanne, and my family. I knew from an early age I wanted to become a teacher like my grandmother to help young children flourish in school and in their future endeavors. I look forward to helping children succeed in their social, emotional, and academic development.
“Students at a young age have a curiosity to learn new things and explore them. I’m enthusiastic for the opportunity to give students chances to self-explore and, through collaborative learning, to succeed.”

"This world has a lot of stories, and there's a lot of fun to be had in discovering them."
I have been teaching at Indiana Horizon for three years. In education, I value each student's ideal experience in the classroom, no matter how unconventional. Learning is different for everyone!
In my free time, I primarily read, code, or write. The best way to get me excited is through antiques!
