Indiana Horizon Academy’s mission is to provide a nurturing Islamic environment where students aspire for excellence in education, integrity and leadership skills to better serve humanity.
IHA's mission is to serve the community, therefore, school leadership and stakeholders work diligently every year to contribute to local organizations such as the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana and American Veterans organization.
IHA is a full time private Islamic school that was established by community members of Northwest Indiana Islamic Center in 2013.
The school opened its door in August 2013 for 16 students and 6 staff members. Over the past eight years, IHA has been striving to reach its mission by providing rigorous education and Islamic environment.
IHA is nested in the school Town of Merrillville district and works closely with its leadership to utilize title funds to provide quality programs and resources.
IHA serves Lake and Porter counties. A few families commute 30-40 minutes daily to ensure children are receiving quality religious education.
IHA is a member of Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce and partners with local businesses and restaurants in the area to raise funds.
IHA is a member of the Northwest Indiana Special Education Cooperative (NISEC) that provides special education services in the school to children.

IHA provides standard based curriculum, instruction, and assessments (following Indiana college and career readiness standards and early learning foundation standards).
IHA provides resources to enrich students’ learning and individualized instruction such as: MAP, IReady, Accelerated Reader, Imagine Learning, A-Z , Education.com, ESGI, and many more.
